Where the name ‘Dormy’ comes from

In Scottish match play golf, a player is said to be dormy when they hold a lead equal to the number of holes remaining — a position from which they cannot lose the match.

David first heard the word from his father, a Scottish immigrant, who would say “we’re dormy” during difficult stretches: a quiet way of saying they had made it through, and everything would be alright.

A self-directed precious-metals IRA may allow eligible individuals to hold approved metals through a qualified custodian and an approved depository. Eligibility, tax treatment, fees, and timing depend on your account type and circumstances.

Prices change throughout the trading day. Dormy provides time-stamped quotes that reflect the current spot price, the dealer premium for the specific product, and the quote's expiration.

Direct purchases can typically be delivered to you or stored at an approved facility. Metals held inside an IRA must remain at an approved depository while the account is open, per applicable rules.
